WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Washtenaw County residents 60 and older can book free rides through three transportation providers thanks to a new taxpayer-backed program.
County officials recently split $1 million equally between three transportation service providers to expand services for seniors in the county. The funds come from a new voter-approved countywide millage that raises about $11 million a year for services that benefit adults 60 and older.
