The Western-Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE) is excited to announce the expansion of our Door-to-Door service area starting Oct. 1. The expanded service will now include the Townships of Grass Lake, Waterloo, Putnam, and Unadilla, as well as the Villages of Pinckney and Grass Lake, making it easier than ever for residents to access reliable public transportation.
In addition to this expanded coverage, we have introduced several key service updates for 2024:
Extended Service Hours: Our Door-to-Door service now operates from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing more flexibility for commuters, students, and residents.
New Vehicles: WAVE is introducing new buses and vans to better serve our growing ridership.
Revised Fare Structure: A ride within our coverage area will cost just $1. For destinations outside our coverage but within Washtenaw County, fares will be $5. Senior citizens (60+), students (K-12), low-income individuals, and people with disabilities will receive a 50% discount on all fares.
New On-Demand Booking App: Riders can now book their trips through our new app, Ride Pingo, offering the convenience of on-demand booking without the need for the 72-hour advance notice previously suggested.
WAVE continues to provide accessible transportation for all residents within our service area. Whether you need a ride to work, school, medical appointments, events, hair appointments, or other destinations in Washtenaw County, WAVE is here for you.
In addition to our Door-to-Door service, we operate three fixed routes seven days a week: Chelsea Community Ride, Jackson Road Connector, Community Connector
